Daniel Roehr

Daniel Roehr is Professor at the School for Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. He is a registered Landscape Architect in Vancouver and Berlin as well as a Horticulturalist and Gardener. He previously worked in Japan, Europe, USA and China. In his professional practice in Berlin and Shanghai he specialized in green roof design. He was project architect of the award winning DaimlerChrysler Green Roof Project at Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.

In 2007 he founded greenskins_lab at UBC, where his current research focuses on the integration of green roofs as part of a holistic system for stormwater management. He publishes regularly. Daniel Roehr qualified as a gardener at Elmwood College in Scotland before gaining a Higher Diploma in Horticulture and Landscape Technology from the Askham Bryan College of Agriculture and Horticulture in York, England in 1987 and the equivalent of an MLA from Heriot Watt University/College of Art, in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1992. In addition, Daniel and his team conduct expertise studies and consults professionally.
